Balaka Falls & Hunts Creek Loop Walk
A fantastic, flexible bushwalk exploring the northern and southern tracks of Hunts Creek, taking in the sights of Balaka Falls before turning around at Statham Avenue.

Barrel Dodge (The Cauldron)
A classic, high-energy Scout game where players form a ring and pull each other in a spin, trying to force opponents to knock over the central tower of barrels without letting go of their teammate's hands.
Needs: Buckets, 3 x Large water barrels (the classic blue scout hall drums) 1 x Long wooden pole
Compass Game
A fast-paced listening and reaction game where youth must run to designated corners of the hall based on compass directions before a Leader counts down.

Cumberland State Forest Walk
A highly flexible forest walk offering a dedicated sensory trail for younger sections, open trail exploration for older youth, and a completely different experience between daytime weekend visits and pitch-black after-hours night walks.
Needs: Compass, Map, First aid kit, Backpacks, Water bottles, Torches/headlamps, Sturdy closed-toe walking shoes Jacket/warm layers (the forest canopy traps the cold at night)
Egg & Spoon Relay Race
A classic, fast-paced patrol-versus-patrol relay race that tests balance, focus, and agility under pressure. Scouts must navigate a simple obstacle course without dropping their "egg" or using their hands to cheat.
Needs: Balloons, 1 x Dessert spoon per Patrol 1 x Ping pong ball (the "egg") per Patrol 1 x Sturdy chair per Patrol (to serve as the turnaround point) 1 x Low balance bench per Patrol (to serve as the obstacle)
Kaa’s Tail
An energetic, fast-paced skipping game where players must jump over a low-spinning rope (Kaa's tail) to avoid being eliminated.
Needs: Rope, 1 x Long rope with a weighted rope ball (or soft beanbag) securely tied to the end.
North Rocks Dam & Bidjigal Loop Walk
A scenic and adventurous bushwalk starting from Perry Street, navigating past the historic North Rocks Dam, crossing into Bidjigal Reserve, and returning via a street-and-footpath loop.
Needs: Compass, First aid kit, Backpacks, Water bottles, Torches/headlamps, Sturdy closed-toe walking shoes Sun hat and sunscreen Rain jacket (just in case)
Parramatta Lake (Long 5km)
A fantastic regional bushwalk looping around the historic Parramatta Lake. This track offers great scenery, clear paths, and excellent intermediate amenities like a playground and toilets to break up the hike.
Needs: Compass, Map, First aid kit, Backpacks, Water bottles, Torches/headlamps, Enclosed walking shoes or hiking boots Sun protection (hat and sunscreen) Light rain jacket (if weather is unpredictable)

A beautiful, shaded valley walk through ferns and Coachwood trees, offering a moderate challenge with steep slopes and stepping-stone creek crossings. Keep an eye out for local wildlife along the way!

Poison Ball
A fast-paced dodgeball variant where players must dodge balls being rolled across the floor while trapped inside a shrinking circle.

Pool Noodle Hockey
A fast and furious 1-on-1 indoor hockey game where players are paired by height and called into the center to score goals using pool noodles.
Needs: Balls, 2 x Half pool noodles (used as hockey sticks) 1 x Soft, lightweight ball (soccer ball size) 2 x Benches (placed at opposite ends of the hall to serve as goals)
