Joey Scouts is where the adventure begins with children aged 5-8yrs old.
At Joey’s we work on developing various Scouting skills via fun yet a little challenging games and activities.
We teach our Joey’s about Scouting, the Joey section, as well as the other sections that they can move to as they get older.

Adventure
Our Joey’s love to explore and see nature on our frequent bush walks or night hikes. We take our Joey’s to local bushlands ready and packed with a backpack of supplies to be ready for anything.
Many Joey’s go to our group family camp, or other district level camps for an away from home experience.
Creative
Our Joey’s are amazing at craft activities, filled with colourful paper, stickers, glue, googly eyes and many other things. Cutting, sticking, bending and tying is all part of the fun.
They also love to get creative in the kitchen with our various cooking activities making damper twists, or english muffin pizzas plus of course, toasted marshmallows on the camp fire.
Games
Everyone loves games, and our Joey’s are no different.
So many games, so little time.
Scout Method
The Scout Method has eight elements that support the development of young people. The Scout Method is unique to Scouting and Scouting is unique because of this Method, and the way in which it educates and develops young people. The Scout Method is the same across all Sections, providing for continuous development.

Uniform
A shirt and scarf is all that makes up the basic Scout uniform. These items can be purchased online directly through the Scout Shop or through second hand clothing pools run by many local Scout Groups. Scarves and badges are provided by the local Scout Group.
